The cat on the windowsill, safe and warm, watching the cold world outside, is a powerful symbol of comfort and contentment. It's a very peaceful piece to paint."

Pro-Tip: To create the soft, frosted look on the windowpanes, use a 'dry brush' technique. After painting the base window color, take a clean, dry brush with a very small amount of white paint. Lightly scumble or scrub the brush over the pane to create a semi-translucent, frosty texture that lets the outdoor scene peek through.
